dr. György Madej

György Madej is a qualified attorney specialized in real estate and real estate finance. Having graduated from the law school of the University of Miskolc with a summa cum laude grade in 1998, György spent five years in such recognised international law firms as Baker&McKenzie and Clifford Chance. György was admitted to the Budapest Bar in 2002. In 2003 György joined Ablon Group, a leading real estate development and management company operating in the CEE Region where he served as chief legal counsel for 8 years. Since 2012 György has been an active permanent contractor of MKB Bank. György has also completed a post graduate course in economics from Corvinus University in 2011. György speaks English and Hungarian.

Baker&McKenzie

Participation in various due diligence exercise in M&A and real estate field;
general legal work in real estate, labour, general corporate matters;
Participation of land acquisition works by a major hypermarket chain and participation in development of one of the leading shopping centre multi-functional projects of Budapest.

Clifford Chance

Real estate related and general legal advisory works, such as commercial leases, land development projects and litigation matters related to the real estate sector;
Leading role in various real estate transactions, including sale and lease back transactions, residential and condominium developments ;
Leading the Hungarian operation for a world-wide asset sale of a business line of a pharmaceutical company.

ABLON Group

Leading the legal works of acquisition and sale processes in Hungary and abroad (Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Russia), including all drafting and negotiation tasks. The major developments projects in Budapest were, among others: BC 99 Office Park, Gateway Office Park, BC 30 Office Building, Rosslyn Boutique Hotel, Europeum Multifunctional Centre, Buy-Way Shopping Mall, Airport City Logistic Park;
Handling of all land registry matters (plot settlements, condominium issues, etc.);
Preparation and negotiating general contractor and other construction agreements, as well as architectural and design contracts in Hungary and abroad (Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic);
Development tasks for certain projects, such as negotiating with municipalities, building departments, public utility companies;
Drafting and negotiating all lease agreements of the Group in all real estate fields (office, retail and logistics), covering approx. 200,000 sqm of office, approx. 80,000 sqm retail and approx. 30.000 sqm of logistic space;
Drafting and negotiating real estate agencies as well as project management, property management and facility management agreements;
Preparation of all hotel management contracts, including participation of the flag-ship hotel management contract with a multi-chain hotel operator;
Corporate maintenance of the Hungarian entities of the Group and legal assistance to financing agreements and the administration thereof;
Establishment and maintenance of the legal contracting system of the Group, as well as the legal administrative system of the Hungarian operations including preparation of the Group templates;
Liaising with and controlling the work of law offices and other legal suppliers;
Legal representation in litigation/arbitration and public administrative procedures.

MKB Bank Zrt.

Legal support and drafting activities for refinancing and restructuring various project financing transactions;
Supervising the drafting works relating to the syndicated project finance loans where MKB served as facility agent;
Legal co-ordination of cross border financing activities;
Directing the collateral check review of the full project financing portfolio of the Bank in Hungary and abroad (Romania, Croatia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Russia);
leading role in the legal work of the spin off project of the Bank’s toxic real estate loan portfolio and sale of syndicated loans during the Bank’s resolution process;
Co-ordinating of all major litigation/arbitration activities of the Bank relating to the real estate loan portfolio;
Legal support for the Bank’s depository services for real estate funds.
